Airport Meet and Greet

Your driver is inside the arrivals hall with your name on a board. Here is exactly how a pickup works, from landing to your front door.

Meet and greet sounds like a premium extra. With us it is simply how airport collections work. Nobody should land after a long flight and then have to hunt round a multi-storey car park for a car they have never seen.

What happens, step by step

  1. Before you fly. You give us your flight number when you book. We use it to track your flight, not your scheduled time.
  2. The day before. You receive your confirmation and the number to call on the day.
  3. When you land. We see the actual landing time. Your driver is already on the way or parked up.
  4. In arrivals. Once you are through baggage and customs, your driver is waiting in the public arrivals hall holding a board with your name.
  5. To the car. The driver helps with your luggage and walks you to the vehicle in the airport’s pickup area.

Waiting time

Free waiting starts when your flight lands, not when it was due. That covers the usual time for immigration, baggage reclaim and the walk out. If you are held up for a reason unrelated to the flight, for example a lost bag claim, call us and we will keep the driver informed.

Can’t find your driver?

It happens occasionally, usually at a busy terminal with several exits. Call the number on your booking confirmation. We will get you and the driver together quickly. Please do not leave with another driver offering a ride: only use the car we have booked for you.

Meet and greet for someone else

Lots of people book a car for a parent, a guest or a colleague. Put their name and mobile number on the booking so the driver can reach them directly, and add your own number so we can update you.

What your driver will do

  • Arrive at the airport before your plane lands, based on live flight data
  • Wait in the public arrivals hall with a board showing your name
  • Help with luggage and walk you to the car
  • Call or message you if you are not through by the expected time

Tips for a smooth pickup

  1. Switch your phone on as soon as you land, and connect to airport Wi-Fi if roaming is off.
  2. Head out through customs to the public arrivals area before looking for the board.
  3. If your bags are lost or delayed, let us know. The baggage desk can take a while.
  4. Travelling with someone else? Tell us whose name to put on the board.

Meet and greet for first-time visitors to London

Landing in a new country after a long flight is disorientating. Signs, queues, a new currency and a phone that may not connect straight away. Meet and greet takes the guesswork out of the last step. You walk into the arrivals hall, see your name, and the driver handles the rest, including the drive to your hotel door.

If you are booking for an overseas guest, give us their flight number and a contact number that will work in the UK, plus your own number so we can update you when they have been collected.

Meet and greet for older travellers and anyone needing help

If the passenger has booked airport assistance with their airline, the airport team will help them through the terminal to the arrivals area, where our driver takes over. Let us know about the assistance booking so the driver allows extra time. Tell us too if the passenger needs a front seat, help with bags or a car that is easy to get in and out of.

Meet and greet for business guests

Collecting a client or a visiting colleague? Ask for the company name on the board, or the guest’s name and company together. Pair it with an executive car if you want to make a good impression. Invoices can be sent to your accounts team.

Which airports offer meet and greet?

All of them. Meet and greet is standard on our airport collections at Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton, London City and Southend, and at cruise terminals when you come off the ship.

Meet and greet at cruise terminals

The same service works when you come off a ship. Your driver meets you at the cruise terminal on disembarkation day, helps with luggage and takes you home or on to the airport. Tell us the ship and terminal, and your expected time off the ship, when you book.

Booking meet and greet

There is nothing extra to select. Every airport collection includes meet and greet as standard. When you request a quote, just give us the airport, terminal if known, flight number, passenger names and luggage. We confirm the booking in writing and send the driver details before the day.

Name board tips

  • Use the name the passenger will recognise, which is not always their full legal name.
  • For couples or families, one surname is usually enough.
  • For business guests, the company name or a reference works well.
  • Tell us if you would rather the board did not show a name at all; we can use a booking reference instead.

Why meet and greet matters at busy terminals

At Heathrow Terminal 5 or Gatwick South on a summer morning, the arrivals area can be crowded and noisy. A driver standing at the barrier with your name is far easier to find than a car somewhere in a multi-storey car park. It also means someone is there to help with a trolley full of bags the moment you come through.

Meet and greet is included on every airport collection, at no extra charge beyond your quoted fare.
